Written on 1:49 PM by Jayanth
It all started with Web 1.0 which was a "read-only" web. Then came Web 2.0 which introduced dynamism and collective intelligebce. And now we have WEB 3.0 the third decade of the Web (coined by Nova Spivack)
Web 3.0 would allow people to modify the site or resource itself.Wikipedia allows you to do some thing of this kind.
- The next generation of sites would have the capability to compile and execute user code on them.
- Web 3.0 would transform the web from a network of independent applications and content repositories to a more seamless and interoperable web
- Web 3.0 would use open APIs and protocols, open data formats etc.
- It would transform the way the web is used.Web 3.0 would make use of
Semantic Web Technologies such as RDF,SWRL,SPARQL etc which would result in a more Intelligent Web.
Web 3.0 Architecture
"Web 1.0 was 56K average bandwidth, Web 2.0 is an average 1 megabit bandwidth and Web 3.0 will be 10-12 megabits of bandwidth all the time. This says it all"
